State Awards Speed Camera Contract: Pact With ACS Will Allow Expansion of Work Zone Enforcement

Abstract:

Maryland State Highway Administration, Maryland State Police, and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police plan to jointly award a contract of up to $20.9 million to ACS to expand the work zone speed camera enforcement program that was authorized by the General Assembly last year. Under the contract, ACS would provide vehicles, cameras, computer services, and new laser-based speed detection systems for processing tickets.
