Time to Slow down in Work Zones
Abstract:Beginning Aug. 28, motorists who speed or pass in active work zones on state highways will be in for a bigger shock if they’re pulled over — minimum fines of $250 and more. The Missouri Department of Transportation said the new fines are part of legislation recently signed into law by Gov. Holden. The law encourages motorists to obey reduced speed limits in work zones because additional $250 fines for speeding or passing in work zones on state highways can be levied when workers are present.
