TRIMARC’s Importance Heightened Since Sherman Minton Bridge Closure

Author/Presenter: Quay, Chris
Abstract:

After the Sherman Minton Bridge closure in September 2011, the TRIMARC Traffic Operations Center has played an important role in interstate monitoring and fixing traffic flow issues by providing timely information to drivers who need to plan for alternate routes and notifying emergency crews so they can get to accidents quicker. TRIMARC is funded through a cooperative effort between the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Federal Highway Administration.
