Abstract:

Truck-mounted attenuators (TMAs) are designed to absorb the energy of an errant vehicle. All employees that drive a truck-mounted attenuator need to be trained in the proper methods of installation, transporting, setup, operations, and preventative maintenance of the unit. This booklet covers the following contents: Driver Characteristics; Equipment/Safety Concerns; Operational Issues; and Truck-mounted TMA Installation, Removal and Preventative Maintenance.
