Whitead Proposes Work-Zone Traffic Cameras
Author/Presenter: Boshart, RodAbstract:
An Iowa House subcommittee began work on a bill proposed by Rep. Wesley Whitead, D-Sioux City. House File 2053 would require state public safety and transportation officials to install photo traffic enforcement devices and warning signs in all road work zones on state highways to deter speeders. The proposed bill has caused various concerns due to the cost to purchase and install the equipment and also the possibility of running into problems with multi-state enforcement compacts Iowa has with neighboring states.
