Whitmer Administration Clarifies “Essential” Construction Projects

The Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association (MITA) asked Governor Gretchen Whitmer to deem all construction field operations as non-essential. The Governor’s decision is to continue work on state projects where and when contractors and their workers can stay on the job in a safe manner. MITA and Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) have reached an agreement that MDOT projects will continue unless there are COVID-19 concerns that warrant a delay or shutdown.
