Work Zone Awareness Week April 6 -12
Abstract:The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will observe its sixth annual Work Zone Awareness Week, April 6-12, by encouraging motorists to drive safely through highway work zones. VDOT’s goal is to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities in highway work zones, especially among young, inexperienced drivers. VDOT employees will hand out safety information kits during “Safety Breaks” at 39 rest areas across Virginia from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 4 to kick off Work Zone Awareness Week. In addition, VDOT will join the nation on Tuesday, April 8, in recognizing the fourth National Work Zone Awareness Week, which was inspired by VDOT’s annual campaign
