Work Zone Lane Closure Analysis Guidelines
Abstract:To minimize the severity and duration of mobility impacts on the traveling public resulting from the work zone, all roadwork projects shall be adequately evaluated and analyzed. Planned lane closures that do not cause traffic flow bottlenecks and result in only minor levels of congestion are an effective traffic management strategy. These guidelines outline the procedures to be followed and the parties responsible for its fulfillment. They are applicable to all work performed on Maryland State Highway Administration maintained roads.
