Work Zone Safety Awareness Week Events Slated

Abstract:

Federal Highway Administrator Mary Peters is slated to join AASHTO President John Njord and officials of several other groups next Tuesday to observe National Work Zone Awareness Week with a national event. Many states will sponsor their own events. The observation, in a work zone beside Interstate 95 – part of Virginia’s massive Springfield Interchange project – aims to remind motorists that roadsides are workplaces for hundreds of employees who toil, at great risk of death and injury, to improve the United States’ transportation network.
