Work Zone Safety Dog Made an Alabama Trooper
Abstract:Governor Kay Ivey of Alabama bestowed the honorary title of Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) trooper upon Millie, the Work Zone Safety Dog, recognizing her invaluable contributions to promoting work zone safety and combatting distracted driving. Alongside her handler Morris King, Millie engages in educational programs and public appearances to advocate for highway work zone safety. ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor praised Millie’s efforts, emphasizing the importance of her role in raising awareness. Meanwhile, in Montana, Andy the Australian Shepherd has taken on a similar role as part of the Montana Department of Transportation’s safety campaign. With his charming personality, Andy helps convey crucial messages about seat belt use, driving sober, avoiding distractions, and obeying speed limits. These canine ambassadors serve as powerful reminders of the significance of safety on our roads and highways, inspiring communities to prioritize safe driving practices.
