Work Zone Safety Education – It’s not Just for Adults

The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) sent more than 3,400 work zone education packets to third-grade, fifth-grade, and eighth-grade teachers, as well as driver education instructors. DOT officials are encouraging educators across Iowa to incorporate a special work zone safety curriculum into their classrooms to help young children become active passengers, and to educate future motor vehicle operators on the importance of safe driving in road work zones.
