Work Zone Up Ahead: Other States Call TTI for Work Zone Research

Abstract:

The safety of traffic operations in work zones has been a priority nationwide. This article describes the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI)’s involvement in three recent work zone research projects that helped sponsors by providing guidance in terms of the application of intrusion countermeasures for various roadway conditions, truck-mounted changeable message sign for mobile operations, and merging taper lengths for short duration work activities.
