IN-PERSON TRAINING: Developing and Implementing Transportation Management Plans (TMPs)

This training provides a comprehensive overview of the processes, strategies, and responsibilities involved in developing and implementing Transportation Management Plans (TMPs). Using guidance established under the Work Zone Safety and Mobility Rule and best practices gathered from agencies across the country, this course walks participants through TMP basics, coordination practices, work zone impact assessments, TMP strategy selection, and the approval and implementation process.

Participants will learn how TMPs improve safety, mobility, construction efficiency, communication with the public, and overall project success. The course also emphasizes the TMP as a living document that must evolve as conditions change throughout project development and construction.

The training will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, 9:00am – 4:00pm (ET). For more information or to register, go to the website above.

This training is provided at no cost, supported by the FHWA Work Zone Safety Grant. It will award a certificate to those fully attending and completing the session. Professional Development Hours will be provided to those that request these during registration. A total of 6.0 PDHs can be earned for fully attending this training.
