This podcast is an introduction to the concept of a work zone RSA and serves as a companion to the guidance document entitled “Work Zone Road Safety Audit Guidelines and Prompt Lists.” The focus will be on how RSAs are different from inspections, which seems to be a common question among practitioners. It will outline the benefits of RSAs at the various stages of construction and will highlight project characteristics that make a project a good candidate for a work zone RSA. The podcast will highlight the main functions of RSAs and note any data we have on where they have been used effectively to improve WZ safety.
