Webinar: WZITS Implementation Tool – Version 2.0 Release

The Federal Highway Administration’s Work Zone Management Team conducted this free webinar to present the new Work Zone Intelligent Transportation System (WZITS) Implementation Tool – Version 2.0.

The WZITS Tool Version 1.0 was released in 2018 and provided a software implementation of the 2014 Work Zone ITS Implementation Guide. Many people participated in previous webinars, in-person training sessions, and testing of that original tool. Based on the feedback received, the FHWA team has proceeded with updating the tool with several important enhancements, including:

• New volume-to-capacity wizard to help with congestion screening
• Ability to customize scoring matrices for agency-specific needs
• Streamlined presentation of WZITS Guide Steps 3 through 6
• Updated PDF reports
• Enhanced user friendliness and pop up messages
• Updated user interface

This free webinar provided an overview and demonstration of the new tool.
