FGDC’s Work Zone Data Exchange (WZDx) Specification: Version 3.0 Release Webinar
The Work Zone Data Working Group, established under the Federal Geographic Data Committee Transportation Subcommittee, recently published version 3.0 of the Work Zone Data Exchange (WZDx) Specification. The WZDx Specification enables infrastructure owners and operators to make harmonized work zone data available for third-party use. Changes introduced via WZDx v3.0 will improve usability and consistency, including the standardization of lane sequencing and version formatting, additional properties to support detour information and other road events for implementing agencies, and relationship entities to describe correlations between road events and work zone phases (i.e., non-WZDx entities on the road). To support roadway operators and agencies considering the establishment of their own WZDx-compliant feed, as well as data users considering ingesting WZDx data, the U.S. DOT is hosting this webinar to introduce the changes made to the WZDx Specification for its v3.0 release.
