“Take the Pledge – Wear the Pin”

South Carolina’s roads are among the most dangerous in the country. Across South Carolina, SCDOT is in the midst of an aggressive construction program and there are work zones in many areas. To make the highways the safety work places for DOT employees and work zones safe for traveling public, SCDOT is urging not only its own employees, but also all SC motorists to “Take the Pledge.” People who complete a pledge form receive a black “Highways or Dieways” jewelry quality lapel pin and are asked to wear it at least once a week to raise awareness. They also receive a “Highways or Dieways” bumper sticker.

State/Agency: South Carolina
Themes:

PLEDGE: "I pledge to drive safely, courteously and defensively at all times, and wear my Highways or Dieways lapel pin one or more days per week as a symbol of my personal commitment to safer roads in South Carolina."
