Work Zone Safety

Major public awareness efforts include publicizing information on major work zones through news releases. A CD of potential work sites (with map) is sent to each TV station and newspaper with work-zone safety rules included. Other efforts include publishing work zone information on the web site and in driver’s manual. They also use variable message signs in the process of getting a public awareness campaign underway.
