Conditions for using temporary concrete barriers
In Wisconsin, temporary concrete barriers are used under the following conditions: bridge deck rehabilitation projects, bridge painting, some bridge overlays, many crossover transitions, and separating counter-directional traffic when two lanes are maintained in each direction. Depending on speed, volume, duration, and type of work, TCB may also be used if dropoff/work area is unusually close to traffic, or to protect from exposed objects.
