Design and oversight of work zone operations

Pennsylvania is divided into eleven Engineering Districts. The design and oversight of work zones is done at the district level either in the Traffic or Design unit. Oversight is handled by the construction inspectors.

The  Bureau of Maintenance and Operations in the Central Office in Harrisburg sets policy concerning work zones.

Anyone who interferes with the normal movement of traffic on any publicly maintained road must follow PennDOT regulations.
