Traffic control for volunteer litter pickup crews
Connecticut’s Adopt-A-Highway program allows volunteer groups to pick up litter on state secondary routes. The adopted highway sections are normally two miles in length and litter pickup must be performed a minimum of four times annually. The traffic control plan used is: “Work in Travel Lane or Shoulder – Two Lane Highway (Moving Operation).” Traffic control signs are provided by ConnDOT.
