A geographic information systems (GIS)-based traffic control planning tool has the capability to organize, visualize, and manipulate data in a single package. It makes it possible for construction personnel to quickly make informed decisions about proposed traffic control plans (TCPs) which make travelers safe and efficient in travelling through construction zones. This article describes details about the development of this tool.
