Application of Work Zone Best Practices to the Project Development Process

Author/Presenter: Fontaine, Michael D.; Ullman, Gerald
Abstract:

This report summarizes the results of research that applied the best practices listed in Meeting the Customer’s Needs for Mobility and Safety During Construction and Maintenance Operations to a typical project development process. The best practices were also applied to the 17 recommendations for Federal Highway Administration actions listed in the Meeting the Customer’s Needs for Mobility and Safety During Construction and Maintenance Operations report. Each best practice was assigned to at least one recommendation, and at least one part of the project development process. The process of assigning the best practices to these items is described in the report. A graphical interface to aid in the dissemination of this information is also described and recommended.
