ASAE Recognizes Efforts to Promote Work Zone Safety Facility

Abstract:

A public relations program mounted by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to promote safety in roadway construction zones has been named a 1999 Gold Circle Award recipient by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). The Gold Circle Award recognizes ARTBA activities to create industry awareness and use of the new National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse project is handling more than 1,200 requests a month for information about safety in roadway construction zones.
