Asking Drivers What Information They Need: Radical but Effective

The Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) was contracted by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to collaborate with the Waco District in developing and implementing the construction traveller information system for their multi-year I-35 expansion project.   This article describes the user survey TTI did to determine travellers’ information needs, and the comprehensive systems engineering process implemented to fulfil those needs.
