CALTRANS Mourns Death of Maintenance Worker

Abstract:

California Department of Transportation Caltrans Director Josí© Medina today offered condolences to the family of Charles Deming, a maintenance worker who was killed on Highway 39 in Los Angeles County. Deming is the first Caltrans worker to die in the line of duty this year. Two Caltrans workers were killed in 1999. Since 1924, 155 department employees have been killed in the line of duty. A memorial service has been scheduled Monday at 10 a.m. at the Sunrise Chapel of the Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery, 2400 North Fairoaks Ave., in Altadena.
