Cumbria Highways Signs are Multilingual
Abstract:Highways England has started giving warning in nine foreign languages on several of its portable electronic variable messages signs to better communicate road work and closure information to lorry drivers from other countries, following some feedback from Cumbria police. The pilot is conducted in Cumbria where £7 million of improvements are taking place along the M6 north of Carlisle.
