Damascus Man Beats Speed Camera Ticket

Author/Presenter: Singer-Bart, Susan
Abstract:

Paul Layer of Damascus became the 25th person in Montgomery County to be found not guilty last week following a ticket from a speed camera. Layer, a constitutional lawyer, researched the laws after he received the ticket and found that speed cameras are only allowed in work zones where the speed limit is 45 mph or above. The camera that caught him was in a 30 mph zone so that was illegal. The judge agreed and dismissed the ticket.
