Eradicating Work Zone Danger

Abstract:

New safety systems for highway work zones are helping to reduce deaths and injuries in the United States, while much work is being done in Europe to improve work zone safety.   This article discusses the safety initiatives of Texas Department of Transportation, the UK, the European Union Road Federation, and Sweden.   Trinity Highway Products’ Vulcan barrier, Mobile Barriers MBT-1, and Lindsay’s Quickchange Moveable Barrier (QMB) are highlighted.
