Fatal Hit-and-Run a Reminder of Work Zone Dangers on Erie’s Interstates

Author/Presenter: Leonardi, Ron
Abstract:

Jacqueline Ohly, a 26-year-old construction worker, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run drunk driver while working on an Interstate 90 project contracted by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) on Tuesday. Three PennDOT workers were among 19 people who died in work zone crashes on state roads in 2017. PennDOT calls for motorists to obey traffic signs, follow flagger instructions, stay aware of construction going on, and limit distractions.
