Fatalities and Serious Injuries Among Highway Construction Workers – Summary Report

Abstract:

The Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North American (LHSFNA) completed a national study of serious injuries and fatalities among Highway and Street Construction workers. The study was conducted as part of a grant with the Federal Highway Administration, United States Department of Transportation and is the most comprehensive national study on highway construction fatalities and injuries conducted to date. The study documents a number of serious occupational safety problems in highway construction.
