In the whole world, Construction sector is one of the foremost booming industries. In India Construction is the second largest employer in 2017, close to 51 million people are employed in this segment. Its workforce is more unprotected, and the probability of a casualty is multiple times more. According to a study by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), around 48,000 people die at work in India every year and 70% are them from construction sector. One of the major reasons is falling from heights and not following safety measures. Lot of rules and guidelines were given by government but still people fail to follow the safety guidelines and protect their lives. Monitoring continuously whether the employees are wearing the personal protective equipment while working in the construction site is a challenging task. Using sensors and internet of things monitoring would be easy and this paper presents a simple solution to monitor the various PPE worn by employees or not by pushing the real time data to the cloud. Proposed system is more efficient and helps in reducing the casualties by continuous monitoring of wearing PPE by the workers.
