Gov. Inslee Signs SB 5272 at Transportation Workers Memorial

Governor Jay Inslee of Washington signed Senate Bill 5272, which aims at improving road worker safety, during a memorial event honoring workers injured or killed on the state’s roads. The bill allows law enforcement to issue infractions when a car is caught speeding by a camera system in a work zone. The event also kicks off a month-long effort to educate the public on work zone safety, particularly during the upcoming busy construction season.
