Highway Worker Killed in Hit, Run

Author/Presenter: Dresser, Michael; Jones, Brent
Abstract:

Maryland State Police are investigating the hit-and-run accident that killed a contract highway worker, Ghassen A. “Gus” Sabra. The preliminary police investigation indicates that Sabra had been working in the left lane of eastbound U.S. 50 when he was struck by a vehicle and thrown into the right lane. According to a spokeswoman for the State Highway Administration, Sabra violated state guidelines concerning proper work zone setup and using a spotter to warn of possible impending problems.
