‘Know the Zone’: CT DOT Launches Pilot for Speed Enforcement Cameras in Work Zones

Author/Presenter: LeBlanc, Julia
Abstract:

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has launched a pilot program called ‘Know the Zone’ aimed at catching speeders through construction zones on state highways to keep the workers safe. CTDOT has outfitted three SUVs with cameras and radar. They are being placed in three work zones across Connecticut to capture vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit by 15 miles per hour or more. The program will run through the end of the year.
