LAPD Asks Celebrities to Tweet Out Word on 405 Freeway Closure

Author/Presenter: Blankstein, Andrew
Abstract:

The 405 Freeway will be closed for construction during the weekend of July 15. The Los Angeles Police Department has contacted representatives of several stars and has openly asked that others join in as well tweeting about the road closure to help get the word out. The celebrity Twitter campaign is a part of the efforts by officials to alert the public to the 405 closure. Other efforts include news conferences, advertising on TV, radio, and in newspapers, email blasts, and warning messages on freeway electronic message boards.
