Live Cams, Speed Sensors Track Traffic in Merritt Parkway Work Zone

Author/Presenter: Shay, Jim
Abstract:

For years, the $56.7 million project on a 5-mile stretch of the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield and Westport has caused lane closures and traffic delays. As the project enters its next phase, commuters can now view live traffic cams in the area most prone to bottlenecks and the biggest delays. The five cameras are found on the project’s website which also includes current sensor data that gives traffic speeds and travel times in both directions.
