MDOT, Heavy Construction Industry Announce Work Zone Safety Awards

The Michigan Department of Transportation and the heavy construction industry collaborated to announce Work Zone Safety Awards at the annual Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association conference on Jan. 19. The awards recognize safety efforts put forth in work zones across Michigan. 11 nominees were considered this year. Each project was evaluated based on collaboration, implementation of new ideas for work zone safety, response to change to promote safety in the work zone, communication, and positive safety culture.
