MoDOT Urges Drivers to Slow Down in Work Zones

Abstract:

The Missouri Department of Transportation wants to remind drivers to slow down when approaching highway work zones and to heed the warnings of signs and flaggers standing on the roadway. MoDOT joined national and state organizations to promote National Work Zone Awareness Week April 9 – 13. Among its awareness activites for the week, MoDOT distributed orange ribbons to employees to wear and tie on vehicles. Alerting drivers to traffic delays and the presence of workers and equipment on the highway is a safety measure for drivers and MoDOT workers and contractor crews alike. MoDOT will have 684 active construction and maintenance projects throughout Missouri this year.
