Most County Road Closures Now Available on Iowa’s 511 Website

Abstract:

County road closures for participating counties in the Iowa County Engineer’s Association’s 511 traveler information website are now available on the state’s 511 system (511ia.org) during major disasters such as floods or winter storms. Users can view closures by selecting the “County Closures” layer, with details displayed in blue. Road closure information, currently available for 79 counties, is managed by the individual counties for local roads and by the Iowa DOT for state and U.S. routes. This feature is accessible on the website and will soon be available via the Iowa 511 app. For more details, contact information is provided with each closure event.
