Mother Fights for Work Zone Safety Awareness on Anniversary of Son’s Death

Author/Presenter: Scott, Mary
Abstract:

Jeffrey Thompson and Cheyenne Burke, two TDOT workers, were killed two years ago when a truck crossed the median and struck the workers as they worked on the guardrail. At the anniversary of her son’s death, Jeffrey’s mother, Debbie, is devoted to raising work zone safety awareness. She spoke on behalf of her son about the dangers of work zones and she also helped to implement a driver’s education course on work zone safety.
