National Work Zone Awareness Week

On April 8, 2003 in front of the TxDOT District office in Wichita Falls will stand 140 orange traffic cones. These cones represent the number of people killed in Texas Work Zones in 2001. Texas in fact leads the nation in roadway construction deaths.
