NDDOT Receives Innovation Grant for Autonomous Vehicle

The North Dakota Department of Transportation received a federal grant to use innovative technology to improve work zone safety with an autonomous impact protection vehicle. The pilot project will include purchasing autonomous vehicle technology to convert a truck into an autonomous impact protection vehicle which will not require a driver during normal operation. The pilot project is expected to be deployed in the Fargo area later this year.
