New Device Keeps Traffic Under Control at Elementary School
Abstract:To address traffic concerns, the Puerto Rico Transportation Technology Transfer Center loaned a local school several flashing stop/slow paddles. The device, developed under the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP), is much like a conventional stop/slow paddle used by flaggers, but features a high-intensity flashing light that the flagger can turn on to get drivers’ attention. The Technology Transfer Center also provided the school with additional safety equipment and training.
