New Survey to Understand the Effects of Abuse on Road Operatives Introduced by Stamp It Out

Author/Presenter: Tatum, Adrian
Abstract:

A new survey, commissioned by the Stamp It Out campaign, has been distributed to over 10,000 highway workers to assess the impact of verbal and physical abuse on their mental health and wellbeing. The survey aims to gather insights into the frequency and effects of abuse faced by road operatives, with results contributing to further research focused on eliminating such behavior in public-facing roles. Last year, 2,307 workers reported abuse, with 60% facing daily incidents, including severe threats. The campaign hopes the survey will provide crucial data to develop effective strategies to protect workers.
