New Work Zone Safety Laws Begin Aug. 1
Abstract:According to a new law passed at the 2014 state legislative session, beginning Aug. 1, motorists will be fined $300 for speeding through a work zone. Motorists who do not obey work zone flaggers’ traffic directions will receive the same amount of fine as well. The 2014 legislation also requires Minnesota Department of Transportation to study all two-lane highways on the feasibility of raising the speed limit from 55 mph to 60 mph.
