ODOT Crews Recognized for Workplace Safety: Northwest District Awarded for Best Safety Record

Abstract:

At its June 2024 meeting, the Oklahoma Transportation Commission recognized exceptional safety achievements within the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). District Six, headquartered in Buffalo, received the Governor’s Safety Excellence Award for maintaining the best overall safety record, logging over 240,000 hours with only three non-disabling injuries. District Five, based in Clinton, earned the Progressive Excellence Award for the most improved safety performance, including reduced accidents and lost workdays. Additionally, the Director’s Safety Awards were presented to top-performing crews across each of ODOT’s eight field districts and its Oklahoma City headquarters, highlighting excellence in safety practices, training, and equipment maintenance. The awards reflect ODOT’s continued emphasis on protecting its workforce and promoting safety in all operations.
