ODOT Looking at Ways to Make Construction Zones Safer

Author/Presenter: Freeman, Kevin
Abstract:

In Ohio, there have been two construction worker deaths in the past month alone, which exceeds the total death toll in Ohio for 2009. Both accidents took place in work zones, which has caused a great deal of concern for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). The current law allows ODOT to reduce speed limits in permanent work zones, ODOT is pushing for the right to lower speed limits in temporary construction zones as well to make them safer.
