Oklahoma DOT Pilot Tests Dedicated Work Zone ‘Rescue Trucks’
Abstract:To reduce crashes and congestion in the work zone, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation launches “GO-DOT,” a pilot program which dedicates two rescue trucks to remove stranded or wrecked vehicles from the I-235 construction zone between I-44 and North 36th Street in Oklahoma City. The “GO-DOT” trucks are funded by the Federal Highway Administration under the I-235 construction contract.
