Road Safety Audit Manual

Abstract:

This document provides guidance for the use of Road Safety Audits (RSAs) on new transportation project plans and on existing roads. These guidelines will give users a detailed process for conducting effective RSAs that focus on safety perspectives that may reduce the number and severity of crashes on Idaho roadways. The guidelines presented in this manual utilize information from the NCHRP SYNTHESIS 336 & 321, FHWA Road Safety Audit Guidelines 2006 and from Nevada’s Department of Transportation’s RSA Procedures and Guidelines 2009.
